Three robberies target area businesses over weekend

There were three robberies over the weekend in the Greater City of Sudbury. The description of the suspect in all robberies is similar, although police havenÂ?t yet indicated itÂ?s the same person.

The first robbery occurred on Friday night (Feb. 21) at the NOCO Gas Bar on Notre Dame Street in Azilda. At around 10 pm, the attendant was approached by man with a knife who demanded money and then fled. Police describe the suspect as six feet tall with a medium build, wearing a black balaclava and black clothing.

The second robbery happened at around 9:40 pm at the Dairy Queen on Lorne Street. A man, who appeared unarmed, fled with an undisclosed amount of money after approaching the lone male attendant. The suspect is described as white, six feet tall with a skinny build, wearing baggy faded blue jeans, a grey jacket and a green toque over his face with the eyes cut out.

Later that night, at 10:20 pm, a man with a knife entered the Number One convenience store at 178 Edward St. in Chelmsford. He left the scene after getting money from the lone female clerk. The man was white, six feet tall, skinny, wore glasses, a black ski mask and black snowmobile jacket.
