Police have released the names of two adults charged following the brutal beating of a local senior and a subsequent carjacking Wednesday. Eric Bruneau, 22, and Tyler Rawcliffe, 19, both of no fixed address, have been charged with robbery, aggravated assault and possession of stolen property.
Facing the same charges are a 16-year-old boy from Dowling, a 15-year-old girl from Sudbury and a 16-year-old girl from Val Caron. A 73-year old man had driven his car to a rest stop. The senior was confronted and assaulted with a hammer.
Personal property was stolen and the suspects, believed to be armed, left in the car and were later observed near Sturgeon Falls. The senior suffered major injuries but is reported to be improving.
