The Ontario Provincial Police has identified the victim of the fatal collision on Highway 11 on Aug. 26 near Marten River as Craig Beda, 49, of Timmins.
The other passengers in the vehicle were Anne-Marie Beda, 48, Michael Beda, 20, and Willem Beda, 16. They were taken to hospital and treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the tractor trailer was not injured.
The investigation continues, said the OPP.

One person is dead following a collision on Highway 11 south of Wilson Lake Road near Marten River, said the Ontario Provincial Police.
The road is closed in both directions. There is a detour via Wilson Lake Road for regular vehicles, but not commercial vehicles. The estimated duration of road advisory is unavailable at this time.
A crash involving a tractor trailer and an SUV happened just before 9 a.m., said the OPP.
A total of five people were involved in the collision, four of them were occupants of the SUV. Temagami Ambulance Service has transported three people to the hospital with undetermined injuries and one person has been confirmed dead.
No names are being released at this time, pending next of kin notifications.
Also on scene is the Temagami Fire Department. The OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting in the investigation.
