A 42-year-old man from Toronto was killed Nov. 2 in a single all-terrain vehicle crash on Reserve Road, Atikameksheng Anishnawbek First Nation.

Officers responded to the call at 5:15 p.m. The investigation revealed the driver was westbound on Reserve Road when he came to a downhill curve, lost control, drove off the roadway and struck a tree. 

The driver, who was not wearing a helmet, was ejected from the ATV.

The driver has been identified as Shawn O'Reilly from Toronto. He was the lone occupant. He was airlifted to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The investigation is continuing with the assistance of an OPP collision reconstructionist and an OPP Technical Collision Investigator (TCI).

A post mortem examination is tentatively scheduled for Nov. 5.
