A witness told Sudbury.com a father and his adult son became embroiled in a physical fight in the cab of a truck while driving along Cedar Street. The fight resulted in the father, who was allegedly driving, to crash into a parked car. It then spilled out into the street where bystanders tried to separate the two men.

The roadway is now clear, say Greater Sudbury Police.

Original story:

An altercation on Cedar Street Tuesday morning prompted Greater Sudbury Police to send out a tweet, asking people to avoid the area while they got the situation under control.

Traffic is blocked in the area while officers are on scene.

Police now say the situation has been "de-escalated" and that officers are speaking with the individuals involved.

Earlier, they said there had been reports of two people fighting on the street near H&R Block (which is very close to the downtown transit terminal) after a possible collision, and that more individuals were getting involved in the altercation.

Sudbury.com has a reporter on scene as we attempt to find out more.
