Traffic complaint leads to list of charges for Sudbury driver

A 39-year-old Sudbury man was hit with a number of charges after being stopped by police on Highway 17 near Webbwood on Feb. 10.

Officers from the Manitoulin-Espanola Detachment of the OPP were called to a traffic complaint on Highway 17 at around 7:05 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10. Officer located the suspect vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

After conducting the stop, officers determined that the driver had been consuming alcohol.

As a result of the investigation, a 39-year-old Sudbury man has been charged with:

  • Failing or Refusing to Provide a Breath Sample
  • Operate a Motor Vehicle Without Insurance
  • Driving a Motor Vehicle with Unsealed Container of Liquor
  • Permit use of Plate not in Accordance with Highway Traffic Act
  • No Muffler

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Provincial Court of Justice in Espanola, Ontario, on April 5, 2018.
