Three people received non life-threatening injuries in a four-vehicle collision on The Kingsway yesterday evening, Greater Sudbury Police said on their Twitter account this morning.

Two of the injured people were drivers, and one was a passenger. The road was closed for around three and a half hours, affecting rush-hour traffic.

The crash is still under investigation. Police say they'll be issuing a media release about the incident.

Updated 3:

The Kingsway reopened at around 6 p.m. yesterday evening.

UPDATE 2:

Police anticipate The Kingsway will reopen by 7 p.m.

"Will advise if road opens sooner," police said in a tweet.

UPDATE:

All four lanes on The Kingsway are currently closed due to a motor vehicle collision. Greater Sudbury Transit will be diverting buses via Bancroft and Howey Drive. All buses from Bancroft to downtown are cancelled until The Kingsway reopens.

Please expect delays on routes in all areas as traffic will be heavy at times. Riders can use mybus.greatersudbury.ca for real-time bus information.

Greater Sudbury Police tweeted at around 3:40 p.m. that The Kingsway is closed in both directions at Kitchener Avenue.

No reports of injuries or how many vehicles involved at this time.
