Two arrested in relation to Elliot Lake robbery

East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police have arrested two individuals believed to be related to a robbery that occurred around four kilometres from where the suspects were eventually found. 

On Nov. 12, the suspect is reported to have entered a convenience store on Hillside Drive North in Elliot Lake, brandished two knives, held a staff member against their will, and then stole cash from the register. 

Police said there was a second person involved, but did not provide details as to their role in the incident. 

The two suspects were arrested Nov. 15 around 11:30 a.m. at a residence on Beckett Boulevard in Elliot Lake. 

As a result, the 29-year-old man with no fixed address was charged with:

Robbery With A Weapon, contrary to section 344(1)(b) of the Criminal Code (CC)
Uttering Threats - Cause Death or Bodily Harm, contrary to section 264.1(1)(a), of the CC
Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose, contrary to section 88 of the CC
Fail to Comply with Probation Order (Four Counts), contrary to section 733.1(1) of the CC

The 27-year-old female and resident of Elliot Lake, on the other hand, was charged with:

Accessory After the Fact to Commit Indictable Offence, contrary to section 463(b) of the CC

Both accused were scheduled to attend the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court in Blind River on Nov.16.
