Two charged with stunt driving

A 41-year-old man with 17 previous speeding convictions has been charged with stunt driving after being clocked travelling 132 kilometres and hour in an 80-km/h zone, said Greater Sudbury Police Service.

He is one of two drivers charged with stunt driving Nov. 11.

In the first instance, at about 2:32 p.m., police stopped a 1979 GMC pickup truck travelling southbound on Municipal Road 80. He has been charged with stunt driving and speeding.

About four hours later, at 6:30 p.m., a 22-year-old man was also charged with stunt driving after being clocked doing 72 kilometres an hour over the posted speed limit.

The driver was travelling at 136 kilometres an hour in a 60-km/h zone on Municipal Road 80 in Val Caron, allege police.

Both motor vehicles have been impounded for seven days and both drivers have had their driver’s licence were suspended for a period of seven days.
