Two men have been arrested and charged in connection to a convenience store robbery that occurred on June 22.
At around 7:15 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, Greater Sudbury Police received a call regarding a robbery that had just taken place at a convenience store on Churchill Avenue.
Two men entered the store, one flashing a knife and demanding cash from the employee at the till. The two men made off with approximately $600 worth of cash and cigarettes. Police say they were seen getting into a vehicle and fleeing the scene. The employee was not injured during the interaction.
Just after 7 p.m. on Monday, June 24, members of the Break Enter and Robbery (BEAR) Unit located the car on Burton Avenue. Uniform patrol officers arrived on scene and conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
A 23-year-old man and a 28-year-old man were arrested and charged for robbery with a weapon and breach of probation among other offences.
Both men were held in police custody and attended Bail Court Tuesday, June 25 to answer to the charges.
