A man and woman were found dead on the back lawn of the Wikwemikong Civic Complex this weekend.
On Saturday, May 18, at around 6:30 pm, officers from the Wikwemikong First Nations Tribal police were called to the scene when the bodies of a 41-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man were discovered. Both people had been shot and were pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is being treated as a murder/suicide at this time but the investigation is still continuing by the Tribal police and the Ontario Provincial Police North East Region Crime Unit.
A post-mortem examination will be performed on the bodies to determine the exact cause of death.
The identity of the man and woman is being withheld pending notification of kin.
