Updated Nov. 3 at 1:15 p.m.: The Ontario Provincial Police have confirmed that the crash that has closed Highway 144 was fatal, and the highway will remain closed for the rest of the day. No further details have been provided at this time.
Original story: A serious motor vehicle collision has closed both lanes of Highway 144 in South Porcupine, south of Doyle Road, more specifically, between the Arctic watershed plaque and Highway 101 in Timmins.
The Highway has been closed since 5:36 p.m. on Nov. 2 due to investigation of the incident by South Porcupine OPP. The OPP advised at the time the severity of the crash means the highway closure will be “lengthy.”
