Updated: Deceased identified in Friday's head-on collision

West Nipissing OPP have identified the drivers as 50-year-old Kenton Gorman and 82-year-old William Howell, both from Elliot Lake. 

Original Story

On June 14 around 9:10 p.m., West Nipissing OPP, Sudbury OPP TIME team, Manitoulin-Sudbury District Paramedic Services, Greater Sudbury Fire Services and the Greater Sudbury Police Service, responded to a two-vehicle head-on collision on Hwy 17 in Greater Sudbury. 

The drivers of both vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Hwy 17 between Hwy 55 and Hwy 69 were closed for several hours following the accident, for the OPP Technical Collision team to investigate the collision, but has since been re-opened. 

OPP have yet to release the age, gender, residency or identities of the deceased.
