Updated: OPP has recovered body of missing person on Agnew Lake

Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered the body of Chelmsford resident who went missing on Agnew Lake May 21.

The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) have recovered the body of the Chelmsford resident, 64-year-old Royal Beausoleil, who went missing from Agnew Lake on May 21, shortly after 7 pm.

The Manitoulin OPP along with the OPP USRU, OPP Emergency Response Team (ERT), and North Shore Search and Rescue were involved in the search.

Members of the OPP USRU recovered Beausoleil on the afternoon of May 23.

The office for the Chief Coroner of Ontario is leading the investigation with the assistance from the Manitoulin OPP.  A post mortem exam has been scheduled and foul play is not suspected.

Manitoulin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is reporting that they are continuing the search today, May 22, for a resident of Chelmsford who went missing on Agnew Lake in the Municipality of Baldwin Township.

On May 21, 2021 shortly after 7:00 p.m. members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of an unoccupied boat circling on Agnew Lake. Manitoulin OPP, OPP Emergency Emergency Response Team (ERT) and North Shore Search and Rescue conducted a search of the area and the individual could not be located.

Members of the Manitoulin OPP and the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) are continuing the search today, May 22.
