Val Caron man can't avoid RIDE check

A 37-year-old Val Caron man was charged with impaired driving during a RIDE stop on March 25. At around 4:30 p.m. on March 25, the Sudbury OPP was conducting a RIDE check on Estaire Road when officers spotted a vehicle pulling a U-turn.

A 37-year-old Val Caron man was charged with impaired driving during a RIDE stop on March 25.

At around 4:30 p.m. on March 25, the Sudbury OPP was conducting a RIDE check on Estaire Road when officers spotted a vehicle pulling a U-turn.

The officers stopped the vehicle and determined that the driver had consumed alcohol.

The driver, a 37-year-old man from Val Caron, was charged with driving while impaired and driving with more than 80 milligrams of alcohol in his blood.

His driver’s licence has been suspended for 90 days and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused will appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury April 20 to answer to his charges.
