Greater Sudbury Police have released the name of the snowmobiler killed as a result of a collision on Whitson Lake Saturday.
The collision occurred at around 9 pm approximately one kilometre east of Lakeshore Drive in Val Caron. The collision occurred between a 1987 Skidoo MX and a parked 1988 GMC pickup truck

The operator of the snowmobile was transported to St. Joseph's Health Centre, where the attending physician pronounced him dead.
The victim has been identified as Edvin Grunt, 46, of Val Caron.
The matter is still under investigation by the traffic management unit of the Greater Sudbury Police Service. Police are still interviewing witnesses to see if alcohol was a factor in the accident.
Grunt, who is originally from Sault Ste. Marie, will be transported back to Sault Ste. Marie, for his funeral.
