A pair of women from Southern Ontario were hit with with weapon and drug charges on Feb. 16 after Sudbury OPP conducted a stunt driving investigation on Highway 69 in Dill Township.

At around 7:30 p.m. on Feb. 16, Sudbury OPP were investigating an instance of stunt driving and as a result of the investigation a 23-year-old woman from Vaughan and a 24-year-old woman from Toronto were each charged with the following:

  • Possession of Loaded Prohibited or Restricted Firearm 
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon 
  • Possession of a Schedule II substance - cannabis marijuana - under 30 grams

The 24-year-old woman who was driving the vehicle at the time was also charged with race motor vehicle - excessive speed. Her vehicle was impounded and her driver's licence was suspended for seven days.

The two are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Sudbury on March 28, 2018.
