Since the beginning of September, Greater Sudbury Police have investigated approximately 40 theft complaints in and around the Gatchell neighbourhood.

Most of the thefts are occurring overnight and are from vehicles.

Some of the vehicles were locked, while others had their windows smashed or door locks punched out.

Although things such as car stereos have been removed, some people are still inviting thieves by leaving things such as wallets or valuable electronic equipments in their vehicles and in plain view.

Area residents are urged to be observant during the night hours and to call police if they notice any suspicious activity.

Some of the streets being targeted include Logan Avenue, Gutcher Avenue, Tuddenham Avenue and Ethelbert Street.

Anyone with information is asked to phone Crime Stoppers at 675-8477.
