West Nipissing OPP investigating snowmobile thefts

Between Dec. 22 and Dec. 26, two sleds were taken from properties in the West Nipissing area

The West Nipissing Ontario Provincial Police detachment is currently investigating two snowmachine thefts that occurred between Dec. 22 and Dec. 26.

On Dec. 23, West Nipissing OPP was dispatched to a residence at 700 Camp Rd. in Moncrieffe Township, north of Greater Sudbury, in response to a theft of a snowmachine.

“The snow machine was inside an enclosed parked trailer, which was locked,” police report. “Sometime between 11 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Dec. 22, an unknown person(s) attended the trailer, removed the locks and had stolen the grey 2021 Polaris 850 snowmachine.”

Then, on Boxing Day, officers with West Nipissing OPP were dispatched to a property on Highway 17 in Markstay-Warren for a report of another stolen sled.

“Sometime between Dec. 16-26 unknown person(s) attended the property and removed a red and black 2021 Skidoo AHM,” OPP said in a Dec. 29 news release.
