Woman fled scene of three-vehicle collision at Notre Dame and Kathleen

No word on injuries yet, drivers should expect delays

A three-vehicle collision at the intersection of Notre Dame Avenue and Kathleen Street is slowing traffic in the Flour Mill.

Police, fire and EMS are on the scene.

Damage to the vehicles appears severe based on photos from Sudbury.com reporter Matt Durnan.

Reporter Callam Rodya is on the scene. He says witnesses are telling him a blue pickup truck may have cut in front of a white sedan. Bystanders are also saying the driver of the pickup truck, a tall blonde woman, walked away from the scene on foot. Rodya said police are looking for her.

In a tweet, Greater Sudbury Police confirmed they are on the hunt for a woman involved in the crash. She's described as being approximately 25 years old, tall, with dirty blonde hair, wearing a white shirt and black pants. She will possibly have cuts or abrasions to her face and head.

Anyone who sees the woman is asked to phone police.

Although the Jaws of Life didn't have to be used, eyewitness said firefighters had trouble extricating the elderly driver of the white sedan from her vehicle. She's since been transported to hospital. Another person involved in the accident has also been transported to hospital.

Traffic is flowing on Notre Dame, though slowly. The entrance to Kathleen Street remains blocked.
