Young driver charged with careless driving after Killarney highway rollover

The 17-year-old driver was not hurt in the incident

A young driver has been charged with careless driving following a single vehicle rollover on Highway 637 in Killarney, said provincial police.

Officers responded to the call on Aug. 28 at 10 a.m. The vehicle was found in the south ditch of the highway, with no occupants in the vehicle. The driver was later located, with no injuries. 

The 17-year-old driver is charged with careless driving, driving a motor vehicle in contravention of conditions, and failing to report an accident.

The driver was issued three Provincial Offence Notices, with set fines for the offences.

The OPP would like to remind the public, that in Ontario, a collision which involves any type of a motorized vehicle must be reported to police in any of the following situations:

Someone sustained an injury or died in the accident.

The accident resulted in $2,000 or more in damage to all vehicles,

If the collision resulted in damage to private or municipal property.
