Passenger train nearly derails near Burwash

None of the 250 passengers were hurt Saturday afternoon when a CN train was almost derailed by a piece of steel laid across the tracks. The accident occured in Porlock, south of Burwash. The passengers were taken to Capreol to await a rescue train.

Greater Sudbury Police continue to look for a suspect who robbed the Pinto convenience store at 59 Eyre St. Sunday evening. Police say a lone male entered the store, brandished a knife and demanded money.
