Three men arrested

Greater Sudbury Police have arrested three men they sought as suspects involved with a hostage/robbery last week on Old Wanup Road. An elderly woman let one man into her home when he asked for directions. Another man quickly entered the home.

A $750-million class-action suit lawsuit filed by residents of Port Colborne against Inco has been thrown out of court by a panel of Ontario Divisional Court judges. The panel indicated the lawsuits could be pursued individually.

Almost four years to the day after he was shot at by Sudbury police, a man was sent to jail Wednesday for trafficking in drugs. Louis Poitras, 32, pleaded guilty to possessing 39 high-powered oxycodone pills.

Police seek info about home invasion

Greater Sudbury Police hope someone has information that will lead to the arrest of two men involved in a home invasion earlier this week. ?We really want to catch these guys,? said Staff Sgt. Todd Zimmerman.

Gunfire on a Sudbury Saturday night

Two men were arrested following an attack that ended with one person being taken to hospital with a gunshot wound in the leg. Police believe the attack occurred near the Independent Grocer on Lorne Street in Sudbury around 4 am on Saturday night.

Val Caron man killed in snowmobile accident

Greater Sudbury Police have released the name of the snowmobiler killed as a result of a collision on Whitson Lake Saturday. The collision occurred at around 9 pm approximately one kilometre east of Lakeshore Drive in Val Caron.
