Downtown disturbance

Two Sudbury men, both 21 and of no fixed address, face serious weapons charges following a major disturbance downtown last Saturday evening. Sudbury Police responded to a large disturbance in the downtown core around 2:35 am.

Man faces charges

On Dec. 11, members of the Greater Sudbury Police Service Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a garage on Logan Avenue and a motor vehicle was seized along with a number of parts.

Officer remains in hospital

A veteran Sudbury OPP officer remains in hospital recovering from serious injuries after being hit by a motor vehicle while helping investigate a previous accident over the weekend. OPP Const. Lucie Sirois is a 14-year OPP veteran.

Police looking for three suspects in robbery

Greater Sudbury Police are investigating the armed robbery of a confectionery store Monday evening. Police are looking for three young males who entered the Madison Confectionery, located at 2176 Madison Ave. at around 9:25 pm.

Man not guilty of murder

A Sudbury man was found not guilty of murder this week in a North Bay courtroom. Jason Richard Tessier was accused of beating a Sturgeon Falls man to death last year. Tessier has been released from custody.

Masked bandits target South End convenience store

Two masked thieves robbed the Kelly Lake Variety Store on Sunday night. At around 7:30 pm, the lone female working in the store was confronted by two males. One of the suspects pointed a handgun at her and ordered the clerk to open the cash register.
