Traffic police kept busy over holiday weekend
Over the holiday weekend, the Greater Sudbury Police Service's Traffic Management Unit conducted RIDE checks and enforcement throughout the city. No major traffic-related incidents or collisions were reported.

Two bodies found in remote cabin
UPDATE: Post-mortem examinations were completed by Dr. Martin Queen at the North East Regional Forensic Pathology Unit in Sudbury. Results concluded that both victims died as a result of foul play.

The OPP is urging boaters and paddlers to be aware of the reality of cold-water dangers. Immersion in cold water causes a powerful gasping reflex, stated a news release. If the person is underwater, water inhalation may result in drowning.

Elderly pedestrian hit by vehicle
An 87-year-old woman was struck by an eastbound vehicle while crossing Lasalle Boulevard, by Wal-Mart on the morning of May 15. She was taken to St. Joseph’s Health Centre with major injuries, but is listed as in stable condition.
