From April 16 to 27, Sudbury and Espanola OPP officers conducted seatbelt checks in different locations for the Spring Seatbelt Campaign. Officers checked 14,388 vehicles, where 12,059 seatbelts and 328 child seats were checked.

Body of fisherman found

The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit found the body of a 38-year-old male in Mudge Bay, near the Kagawong River in Kagawong, about 40 kilometres west of Little Current. The body was recovered on Sunday at 11:20 a.m.
