Update - Highway 69 South reopened Friday night at 10 pm. Two people lost their lives as a result of a collision involving three tractor-trailers on Highway 69, two kilometers north of the Killarney turnoff, at 3:30 am Wednesday morning.

On Jan. 31, Manitoulin OPP responded to a complaint of threatening by e-mail.

Anita Vallis, director of 996487 Ontario Inc, faced charges of failing to file tax returns. The Copper Cliff woman pleaded guilty to not filing corporate tax returns from 2003 to 2005 in Sudbury Court last Wednesday.

Dennis Rivet, 43, of Coniston, was in Sudbury court Friday on charges of sexual assault against his stepdaughter over a ten year period from the time the girl was five. At 15 the girl moved out of the home. She is now in her late teens.

The Ontario Provincial Police is cracking down on aggressive driving by commercial vehicles on major highways in February, according to Police Commissioner Julian Fantino.

Further allegations of sexual impropriety have led to the arrest of Father Bernard Cloutier, 66, of North Bay. Bernard Cloutier has been charged with five counts each of indecent assault on a male, and gross indecency.

Just before 1 am this morning, uniform officers responded to a break and enter in progress at the Gem Mart on Kathleen St. in Sudbury. The original call came from a witness in the area that observed the four culprits in action.

The Greater Sudbury Police Service is investigating a Pedestrian/ Motor vehicle collision that occurred on Feb. 1 at 11:35 pm at the intersection of Falconbridge Rd. and Pilotte St. in Garson. A female pedestrian walking on Falconbridge Rd.
