Men involved in cocaine trafficking admit guilt

BY KEITH LACEY A huge cocaine trafficking case in Greater Sudbury, dating back three years, came to a screeching halt this week. The four local men involved pleaded guilty to conspiracy to traffic huge amounts of the addictive white powder.

Charges pending following Hwy. 144 crash Wednesday

Officers from the Sudbury Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police responded to a motor vehicle collision which occurred at 2:40 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 144 at Joanette Road, just north of Chelmsford.

Greater Sudbury Police are looking for two young men who robbed a taxi driver Sunday morning. Around 5:30 am, a taxi was requested in the area of Elm St. Police say the driver picked up two males who asked to be driven to the Eyre St. area.

Taxi driver robbed at knifepoint

At approximately 10:40 pm Thursday a taxi driver was robbed at knife point in the area of Victoria Street in Greater Sudbury's West End. The 39 year old male driver suffered a small laceration to his hand as a result of the robbery.

Seatbelt blitz nabs almost 200 drivers

Transport Canada conducted its Rural Seatbelt Study in 2004 and found almost 88 percent of all drivers wear their seatbelt. Seatbelt counts in our rural areas indicate an 80 percent usage rate across the country.

Man, woman face drug charges

On Thursday, March 8 at approximately 3:10 am, Greater Sudbury Police officers stopped a vehicle for driving offences. During the stop, a passenger was found to be breaching a court order.
