The Wolves came face-to-face with the Kingston Frontenacs in a nail-biting game last night at the Rogers K-Rock Centre. The Frontenacs held their own for a 3-2 win despite a gruelling attack from the pack on Dec. 9.

The Wolves promised an action-packed game, starting with the first period. Dmitry Sokolov of the Wolves opened the scoring with a goal in the first ten minutes of the game.

The Frontenacs followed suit soon after securing their first goal just before the buzzer sounded.

Sokolov and Kirill Nizhnikov displayed an excellent partnership giving the Wolves a 2-1 lead early in the second period.

Once again, the Frontenacs moved in to tie the game as Matt Hotchkiss took full advantage of the rebound on the power play. It was not too long after when Frontenacs Tyler Burnie seized the opportunity to score their first lead of the game.

Emotions were high in the third period as the pressure mounted. An altercation between Drake Pilon and Liam Murray saw them ejected from the game.

Concentrating on securing a goal, The Wolves poured pressure on the Frontenacs all period, out-shooting them 12-4. The weight did not seem to phase the Frontenacs who held on for a 3-2 win.

The Wolves continue their road swing today facing the Ottawa 67’s.

The puck drops at 2 p.m.
