Conseil scolaire catholique Nouvelon offered congratulations to the 169 young athletes who competed in the board’s Grade 5 and 6 badminton tournament.
The event was held on May 9 and 10 at École secondaire catholique l’Horizon (Val Caron).
The tournament was a great success and brought together 63 athletes in the singles boys and girls categories as well 53 teams in the boys and girls doubles categories, representing 16 different schools, said a press release.
“We sincerely thank all the participants as well as the volunteers from ÉSC l’Horizon and École Alliance St-Joseph (Chelmsford) for offering two great days of badminton,” said the press release.
Girls singles category:
- 1st place: Avery Mathias- École St-Thérèse, Val Thérèse
- 2nd place: Emma Martin- École St-Antoine, Noëlville
- 3rd place: Ella Sabourin- École Jean-Paul II, Val Caron
Girls doubles category:
- 1st place: Emma Martin/ Jordan Crumb- École St-Antoine, Noëlville
- 2nd place: Peyton Tessier/ Tessa van Drunen- École Jean-Paul II, Val Caron
- 3rd place: Jasmine Lapointe/Ella Sabourin- École Jean-Paul II, Val Caron
Boys singles category:
- 1st place: Maxim Coulombe - École Jean-Paul II, Val Caron
- 2nd place: Olivier Lapointe - École St-Paul, Lively
