Competing at one of the largest martial arts tournaments hosted in Northern Ontario, members of the Benoit's Martial Arts as well as the Xtreme Team continued a very rewarding run through the spring of 2013.
The local club featured 10 first-place finishes at the 28th Annual Mid-Canada Karate Championships, a grouping that included Jacob Schweyer (first - kumite), Amelie Comtois (first - kata), Ethan Bubba (first - kata), Duncan Smith (first - kata), Nathan Anness (first - kata; first - kumite), Brianna Smith (first - kata; first - kumite) and Ryan DiSalle (first - kata; first - kumite).
In addition, both Bradley Chaput and Marissa Meandro recorded top three placings in their first tournament in the black-belt division.
