The Sudbury Wolves announced yesterday that veteran defenceman Kyle Capobianco has been named the team captain.

Kyle has been with the team for three seasons and is entering his fourth year with the organization.

“I am honored to wear the 'C' for the team in this new era. My intention is to lead the team with the other captains and work as hard as we can to show the young guys how to be successful in this league,” said Capobianco.

In addition to Capobianco, alternate captains will be Michael Pezzetta and Aiden Jamieson on a permanent basis. Reagan O’Grady and Liam Dunda will also wear an alternate captain 'A' rotating between home and away games.

“We felt it was appropriate to identify these five leaders on the team,” said Head Coach Dave Matsos. "As senior players, they are going to demonstrate the character that the organization is looking to work towards as we build a competitive team game in, game out."

The Pack is preparing for two home games this upcoming weekend.

Tonight, the Wolves host divisional rivals the Barrie Colts at 7 p.m. at Sudbury Arena.

On Sunday at 2 p.m., the Kitchener Rangers make their only trip to Sudbury this season.
