Gold-medal curling champion Brad Jacobs and his team will visit Sudbury on July 26 as part of a northern tour in partnership with Northern Credit Union.
Northern Credit Union announced a two-year sponsorship of local curling hometown heroes, Team Jacobs, which recently took home two wins at the Grand Slam of Curling Tour. Now that their season is done, Team Jacobs is going on a Northern Ontario tour as they drop by Northern Credit Union branches across the province.
Jacobs and his crew will be at 2380 Long Lake Rd. from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
“Now’s your chance to meet some of the team members, get an autograph and take a picture with these nationally recognized athletes,” said a news release. “It’s also a great opportunity to check out some of the exciting updates Northern has made to its True North Adventure game.”
The True North Adventure Game is an online game that’s not only fun, but more importantly, a great way to raise money for those in need, said the news release. The trivia-based adventure allows players to collect points towards a charity of the player’s choice. Then Northern Credit Union makes a monthly donation of $3,000 towards the charities that have been awarded the most points. Northern Credit Union has donated $27,000 to charities to date thanks to the True North Adventure Game.
The game has also been enhanced with features including character selection (including members of Team Jacobs) and all-new trivia.
