Comètes golden at Franco provincial tourney

The École Jean-Paul II Comètes scorched their way to gold after taking down teams from across the province competing at the Franco-Ontarian hockey tournament held in a participé au tournoi de hockey franco à Oakville from April 5-7.

The team was solid in the first round and advanced to the final of the AA division.

The Jean-Paul II Comètes won gold and the championship banner by beating a team from Timmins by a score of 5-2.

“Congratulations to players and many thanks to the coaches Mr. Brunet, Mr. Dauphinais, Mr. Lalonde and Mrs Borges,” said a news release.
