This Saturday, June 1, you will be able to catch both the Spartans and the JV Spartans in a double-header for the one and only time this season against the North Bay Bulldogs.
The JV Spartans will kick things off at 4 p.m., followed by the Spartans at 7 p.m. Both games will be held at the James Jerome field.
Despite losing their season opener against the York Lions, the JV Spartans showed they are more than ready to play in the OPFL, by having brought the strong visiting team into overtime and dropping the match by only one point.
They will look to keep up their strong play on Saturday and show that they are here to stay.
The Spartans are coming off a big 35-26 victory over the Oakville Longhorns in their home opener last Saturday and showed a lot of promise on both sides of the ball. They too will face off against the North Bay Bulldogs on Saturday, as they look to follow up their strong performance against the Longhorns.
“Both teams have had strong openings to their seasons, and we have a big opportunity to keep it going this weekend against our Northern rival,” said Bill Costello, Sudbury Spartans General Manager.
“Even though the Juniors lost, it was still good to see how well they competed with only three weeks of practice and we are excited to see what they can do as the season continues. The Spartans showed us that they are good on both sides of the ball, and more practice will only continue to refine their game.”
Both games are proudly sponsored by Active Therapy Plus who will be on hand with prizes for lucky fans. The Dellelce Hospitality Tent will be open and serving Molson products starting at 3 p.m.
Rain, or shine, don’t miss out on the only double header of the season for the Spartan teams! Tickets will be available at the gate for $10.
