The Sudbury Five have announced that they have re-signed Haroun Mohamed for a third season. The team also announced the date of the home opener, which will be Nov. 23 against the Montreal Toundra.
"I am counting down the days until Nov. 23, and I can't wait for the season to start,” said general manager and head coach Logan Stutz. “The fans and city make basketball in Sudbury great and make me excited to come to work every day to prepare this show for them."
Stutz said he is also excited to be welcoming Mohamed back for a third season. The team said the 6-3 guard is heavily involved in the community through his involvement at basketball camps, academies and community events. Mohamed spent four seasons with the Laurentian University Voyageurs starting in 2017 before signing with the Five.
“Sudbury! I’m back for year three and excited for this season,” Mohamed said. “The Sudbury community has been great to me and I’m glad to be a part of it. Can’t wait for the best fans to cheer us on to a championship! Let’s get it!”
Mohamed has played in 50 games over the past two seasons. In the 23 games he appeared in last year, averaged 1.8 points per game, including a 50-per-cent field goal percentage, 42.9-per-cent three-point percentage and 76.2-per-cent free-throw percentage.
