The Sudbury Wolves continued their hot streak on Thursday night in Barrie, knocking off their division rival Colts by a score of 6-3.

A four-goal outburst in the second period, including three goals in just over four minutes lifted the Wolves to their seventh straight win.

Quinton Byfield opened the scoring for the Wolves at the 7:40 mark of the first period to put the visitors on top 1-0. Jacob Tortora leveled the score on the power play with just 1:15 remaining in the opening period.

Barrie would grab the lead less than five minutes into the second when Matthew Hill found the back of the net. Just two and a half minutes later the Wolves drew even as Peter Stratis netted his fourth of the season, with Byfield and Blake Murray adding assists.

The duo was at it again at the 9:20 mark of the second period with Murray scoring his 13th goal of the campaign with Owen Gilhula and Byfield chipping in on the assists.

Byfield buried his second of the night on the powerplay three minutes later to give the Wolves a two-goal lead. Ryan O'Bonsawin would complete the second period onslaught a minute later, potting his first goal of the season, with Liam Ross and Owen Robinson adding assists.

The Colts pulled one back early in the third period when Jason Willms scored his eighth of the season.

Owen Robinson would put the game away for good four minutes later however, scoring his third of the year with assists from Gilhula and Shane Bulitka.

The Colts outshot the Wolves 35-31 on the night, and Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen was solid in goal, turning aside 32 of the shots he faced.

Quinto Byfield had a four-point night, with two goals and two helpers and earned first star of the game honours. Owen Gilhula had a great night on the stat sheet as well, racking up three assists and going +3 on the evening.

The Wolves will look to make some history Friday night when they take on the Kitchener Rangers. The Wolves have won 11 straight games at the Sudbury Community Arena and could tie a franchise record for most consecutive home wins with a victory this evening.
