Garson Bowl will be represented on the national stage for the fourth time in five years, as a team of four junior girls bowlers will travel to Gatineau, QC in early May.

Madison Huard (14), Chantal Tourigny (14), Isabelle Perreault (13), and Danika St. Jacques will be in Gatineau from May 6 - 8 for the Youth Bowl Canada (YBC) national five-pin championships after working their way through qualification.

The girls started out playing against other bowling alleys in Greater Sudbury, and made their way to the provincial championships in Timmins, where they took on bowlers from Dryden, Timmins, North Bay, and Thunder Bay.

"These girls put in a lot of time and effort and it showed up on the lanes throughout the regional qualifying and provincials," said Nicky Givoque, director at Garson Bowl.

"They have all been bowling since they were four or five years old and it really shows that if you work hard at something, it does pay off."

This marks the fourth time in five years that Garson Bowl has been represented at the national championships, sending two junior and two bantam teams to compete against some of the country's best young bowlers over the past half-decade.

"It's great for this club," said Givoque. "Our teams always seem to show up and perform their best at the bigger events so it's been great to see them succeed."
