The Greater Sudbury Soccer Club's girls development program was a resounding success, as the camp more than double its expected participation.
The program ran for four free sessions for young female soccer players each Thursday over the March 23 to April 13.
The target for this program was originally 60 participants, however the program far exceeded its goals, attracting 125 participants.
Lead by GSSC’s own provincially certified coach Dayna Corelli, this is one of the first and major steps to rejuvenation in female youth participation in sport and has made great strides to female athlete development and interest in sport.
"We at GSSC are extremely pleased with the results of the program and look forward to the future reflection of player retention in soccer and sport in general," said GSSC administrators.
"Additionally, the long-term player development benefits for these young players as they develop to young adults through the love of sport."
