The Sudbury Five have partnered with Cooper Equipment Rentals to launch the Winter Drive with the Five, where kids will have the opportunity to attend a free basketball camp with the donation of winter clothing items in support of Our Children, Our Future.

“We are honored and delighted to partner with the Sudbury Five in support of our Winter Clothing Drive,” said Derek Cashmore, Cooper Equipment regional sales manager.

“‘Winter Drive with the Five’ is a fantastic opportunity for kids to take part in a free basketball camp and learn new skills, all while giving back to our community with the donation of a winter clothing item.

“We sincerely thank the Sudbury Five for hosting this wonderful event that will impact many vulnerable people in need. Neighbours helping neighbours and the power of sport combined."

The free camp will take place on Saturday, Nov. 2 at Cambrian College. The first session for kids ages six to 11 while take place between 12 p.m. and 2 p.m., while the second session for kids 11+ will take place from 3 to 5 p.m.

“The Sudbury community has been so supportive of The Five, that when we see an opportunity to give back, we take advantage of it,” said Sudbury Five Head Coach Logan Stutz.

“Teaming up with Cooper on the Warm Winter Drive made sense as it gives us the opportunity to offer the public a free basketball camp and gather coats for people that need them for the winter. I am excited for this event this year and would love to see it grow in the future.”

Interested participants are advised to register in advance online, as spaces are limited.
