Wilkin began his final year at Lively District by participating on the senior boysÂ' volleyball team. They were undefeated SDSSAA champions, obtained a NOSSA silver medal and were participants at the OFSAA championships. He was the Libero as part of this squad of talented individuals.

More recently, Wilkin obtained the top LDSS time for Nordic skiing and the team won a silver medal for the team time at SDSSAA. At NOSSA, they obtained the second place team time and were participants at OFSAA in Hardwood Hills.

Wilkin also won silver in the 100-metre free at the city championships, silver in the 100-m breaststroke and gold along with his freestyle relay teammates.


OFSAA action

Four local teams will vie for provincial bragging rights next week in curling and hockey.

The Lasalle senior boysÂ' hockey team will compete in the AAA championship in Fort Frances. The Lancers play their first game on March 22 against Kenora at 10:30 am. They play three more games on March 23 and 24 before quarter final actions starts.

The Lasalle boysÂ' curling squad will go against the best in Ottawa, with their first match on March 23 against St. Mark of Ottawa at 7:45 am. Lasalle is seeded eighth. The Lancers also play three more matches on March 23 and 24 before the medal round begins.

The Lockerby girlsÂ' hockey team is facing the top teams in their AAA tournament in London. Their schedule has yet to be set, but action kicks off next week.

Finally, the Notre-Dame girlsÂ' hockey club travels to St. Thomas to compete in the A/AA championship. TheyÂ're the No. 8 seed. Notre-Dame first plays St. Francis of St. Catharines on Tuesday, March 21 at 8:15 am. The Alouettes play two more games on March 21 and 22 before the quarter-finals begin.
