The Sudbury Wolves fell 4-0 to the Soo Greyhounds at the Essar Centre on Wednesday evening.

The game started out well for the Pack. A fast-paced first period saw Wolves goaltender Jake McGrath stand tall against the shots of the Western Conference leaders, keeping all 11 shots out of the net.

Neither team could capitalize on the power play either.

The Hounds got on the scoreboard as the second period was winding down, as Sudbury native Brett Jacklin found the back of the net to give the Soo a 1-0 lead. A late Wolves penalty gave the Greyhounds another chance late in the second, and Taylor Raddysh took it, giving the team a 2-0 lead heading into intermission.

Despite the score, the teams were pretty evenly matched when comparing shots on goal. The Soo had eight to the Wolves 7.

The Soo’s Morgan Frost made it a 3-0 game five minutes into the third. Jordan Sambrook added one more toward the end of the period to make it a 4-0 game, and that’s how it would end.

Shots on goal were 30-22 in favour of the Greyhounds.

The Wolves are in action at home this Friday evening at the Sudbury Arena, facing off against Troy Lajeunesse and the Erie Otters for the only time this season. Game time is 7:05 p.m.

Tickets  are available online at greatersudbury.ca/tickets or at the Sudbury Arena Box Office.
