The JV Sudbury Spartans will take on the Peterborough Wolverines on July 30 at James Jerome Field in Northern Football Conference semi-final action.

The varsity Spartans downed the Quinte Skyhawks last week to advance past the quarter finals in Ontario Summer Football League U16 AA action.

“After going undefeated in the regular season, the JV Spartans were hoping to set the tone in their quarter-finals matchup, as the top-seeded team of the U16 AA Division,” the team said in a news release. “Led by Steven Sola’s 254 passing yards and Zidaine Allen’s 126 rushing yards, the JV’s paved their way to a 41-0 shutout on July16 to clinch the semi-finals.”

Saturday's game is sponsored by Technica Mining. Tickets are available at the gate for $10. Kids 12 and under get in free.

The Spartans men’s team kickoff their playoffs on Aug. 6 at James Jerome Field. Game time and the opponent are still to be determined.
