A number of Laurentian Voyageurs teams were in action over the weekend, including the men's basketball team and two-time U Sports MVP Kadre Gray.
The Laurentian men were taking part in a pre-season tournament and posted a perfect 3-0 record, dispatching of Waterloo by a score of 98-74, downing Western 80-74, before finally knocking off Bishop's University in overtime by a final score of 84-81.
Kadre Gray was named tournament MVP, while teammate Sam Ivey was named a tournament all star.
The women's basketball team was also on the court at the Algoma pre-season tournament. The ladies cruised past the Humber College Hawks by a count of 95-59, but fell to Nipissing by a score of 55-50, and Algoma by a count of 66-57.
On the ice, the men's hockey team dropped an exhbition contest with Nipissing on Saturday by a score of 4-3.
Laurentian's men's and women's soccer teams each earned a weekend split on the road in games against Royal Military College on Saturday and Queen's University on Sunday.
The ladies knocked off RMC 4-0 on Saturday while the men breezed to a 5-0 win. At Queen's on Sunday the ladies were defeated by one of the province's top squads by a count of 4-0.
On the men's side, Laurentian missed out on a chance to pull ahead of Queen's in the OUA's East Division standings, dropping a 1-0 decision.
Heading over to the diamond, the Voyageurs baseball team had a pair of games rained out on Saturday, but took two wins on Sunday, knocking off U of T 8-7 and Queen's 4-0.
