Tyler Boucher, a Grade 6 student at École Alliance St-Joseph in Chelmsford, is having a banner year in martial arts competition.

A member of Sudbury’s KMAC (Korean Martial Arts Club) located in the Gymzone, Boucher has competed in competitions in the intermediate category (10-11 years of age) and has a red belt.

During the KMAC’s World Dahn Moo Do Regional Team competition, held in Sault Ste. Marie on April 28, Tyler claimed first place in forms, second place in self-defence, and third in weapons. As a result of his strong regional showing, Boucher has been invited to take part in the Canadian Martial Arts Championship, to be held from May 18 to 20 in St-Hyacinthe, Que.
