The Sudbury Wolves fell to 1-2 on their four-game road swing with a 4-3 loss to the Windsor Spitfires on Sunday.

A game that saw brothers Christian and Cole Purboo go head-to-head, it was older brother Cole who got the better of Christian who was in goal for the Wolves.

The Spitfires jumped out to an early lead Sunday, with Tyler Angle netting his 10th goal of the season just 3:47 into the opening frame. Cole Purboo added and assist on Angle's goal.

Wolves defenseman Kalle Loponen evened the score on the power play for the visitors at the 12:34 mark of the first period and the teams went into the first intermission knotted at a goal apiece.

Windsor took advantage of a couple of power plays of their own in the second period, scoring twice with the man advantage, with Connor Corcoran and Egor Afanasyev scoring for the Spitfires to give them a 3-1 lead heading into the third period.

Thomas Stevenson put the Spitfires up by three less than five minutes into the third with Cole Purboo grabbing his second assist of the game. Tyler Angle added a helper on Stevenson's goal, giving him three points on the day.

The Wolves had a third period push in them, with David Levin scoring his fourth goal of the season on the power play with about 12 minutes left to play. Blake Murray pulled the Wolves to within one goal with Christian Purboo on the bench for the extra attacker, but that would be as close as the Pack would get.

Christian Purboo had a busy day between the pipes, facing 37 shots from the Spitfires. Total shots on goal favoured Windsor who outshot the Wolves 37-23.

Quinton Byfield managed a pair of assists in the losing effort, while David Levin and Kalle Loponen each tallied a goal and an assist.

With his two assists, Byfield maintained his lead in the OHL scoring race, bringing his total to 31 points in 16 games.

The Wolves hold a very slim one point lead over the Barrie Colts for the lead in the Central Division, but the Colts have three games in hand on the Wolves.

The Pack return north this weekend and will wrap up their road trip with a game against the North Bay Battalion on Friday night. The Wolves are back on home ice on Nov. 2 for the first Sudbury Saturday Night of the season when they host the Peterborough Petes.
