The Greater Sudbury Cubs wrap up regular season play tomorrow night when they welcome the Powassan Voodoos to the Gerry McCrory Countryside Sports complex.
The puck drops at 7:05 p.m.
“The Cubs will be looking to reach the 90-point plateau for the second time in the past three seasons,” the team said in a news release. “The Cubs have a record of 43 wins, 6 losses and 2 OT losses for a winning percentage of .863.”
Although the team didn’t hit 90 points last season, they did in 2022-23 when Greater Sudbury finished with 94 points and claimed first in the Western Conference of the NOJHL with a winning percentage of .810. That season, the Cubs had a record of 46 wins, 10 losses and two OT losses in 58 games.
At tomorrow night’s game, the Cubs will also pay tribute to eight graduating player who complete their final year of eligibility this season.
Each player will receive a framed action photo from Cubs GM David Clancy. Graduating players are Captain Mason Chitaroni, top scorer Lucas Signoretti, second-leading scorer Sam Assinewai, league-leading top goaltender Noah Beaulne, as well as veteran forwards Ben Harris, Ryan Rubic and Cameron Shanks.
Cubs’ latest addition Michael MacLean will be the final graduate to be recognized prior to the start of Thursday’s game.
