The Lady Vees dropped their first game of the weekend to McMaster, 76-68 in overtime on Friday of last week.

Cassandra Carpenter was a force in the loss, recording 27 points.

The Lady Vees rebounded on Saturday by defeating Lakehead 67-53.

Brianne Henry led the charge by scoring 14 points.

The women now sit atop the OUA East Division with a 10-4 record.

The men's basketball team didn't fair as well as their lady counter parts.

The men lost twice over the weekend, losing 84-73 to McMaster on Friday, and dropping a 78-61 decision to Lakehead on Saturday.

Ben Palmer led the way for the Voyageurs against McMaster by dumping in 18 points.

Andy Greig was the main man against Lakehead, scoring 15 points.

The Laurentian ski teams kicked off their first competition this season with solid results at the Ontario Cup at Queen's University.

Some of the more notable finishes were Emily Morel, who placed third overall and Carley Kenwell, who placed sixth overall on the women's side, while Paul Lammens, who placed sixth overall and Philip Wood, who finished seventh overall on the men's side.
