Massive 15-year-old signs as Wolves winger

The Sudbury Wolves are pleased to announce that fourth-round draft selection Brady Pataki has committed to play in the OHL for the Sudbury Wolves.

The 6-3, 220-pound right-winger was selected 65th overall in the 2014 OHL Priority Selection by the Wolves. The native of Wallaceburg played for the Chatham Minor Midgets last season. In 18 play-off games, Pataki scored 13 goals for Chatham.

Pataki is only 15 years of age and doesn’t turn 16 years of age until October.

“I am very excited about playing in the OHL for the Sudbury Wolves,” Pataki said. “It has been a dream come true for me to play in the OHL and develop my skills with the hopes of playing professional hockey one day.”

Andrew Shaw, the Wolves' head scout, watched Pataki develop last season in Chatham and watched his game improve over the course of the year.

“Brady is one of those power forwards that continued to show improvement throughout the season,” Shaw said.

Wolves GM Blaine Smith, who has noted several times since the end of last season, that the team is looking to build its stable of bigger, stronger power players, said the team is excited to have Pataki come on board.

“We are thrilled that Brady and his family have chosen the OHL route to pursue his career in hockey,” Smith said. “A high-end prospect like Brady has options, and I know that he and his family were very impressed with Sudbury and what they saw here during our Orientation Camp in May.”
