New Wolves signed

The team with the worst record in the Ontario Hockey League had no intention of making any major changes at the league trading deadline Friday.

The Wolves did pick up right winger Gary Klapkowski off waivers from the Plymouth Whalers and traded for goaltender Marty Magers in exchange for conditional draft picks from the Owen Sound Attack.

Klapkowski, who doesnÂ?t turn 18 until February, had one goal and one assist last year in 18 games with the Kitchener Rangers. He saw very little ice time with the powerhouse Whalers to far this season.

Magers, 19, was a backup goaltender for the Attack. He is a fourth-round pick of the Buffalo Sabres from the 2000-2001 NHL draft.

Coach Bert Templeton planned on playing Magers in net Friday night against St. MichaelÂ?s and will play him again this afternoon against London Knights if he performs well. Game time is at 2 pm at Sudbury Arena.
